Teams Guide 2008

February 1, 2008

Teams  to look out for

Ferrari: Ferrari is the top team to beat this year with a strong driver line-up. Saying that this season could be the tightest championship for years.

BMW Sauber: BMW came second to Ferrari in the Constructors champion in 2007.  BMW’s new car for the 2008 season looks very impressive but I don’t feel its a championship winning formula.

Renault: Renault had a slump last season maybe from Alonso being at Mclaren.  I don’t think that Renault will win the this years title.

Mclaren: Being last in the pit lane because of the spying scandal last year. But saying that I expect another strong season from Mclaren.

Honda back in it?

January 18, 2008

Is Honda Racing will be competitive this year?

At the end of the 2007 season Honda wrapped up the season with only 6 points thanks to Jensen Button. But Rubens Barrichello finish the season with 0 points.

Honda then signed Ross Brawn!!! Hopefully with Brawn on-board Honda will start getting near the front of the pack. It may take to the 2009 season before we see the real improvement but saying that maybe a little improvement this year.

Honda Racing is a good team but they are slipping back since they came second in the 2004 season team championship to Ferrari. Honda needed a very poor season to to see the warning light flashing.

The Top drivers for the 08 Season

January 18, 2008

This Coming Season

This years season is coming with just over 62 days to the season opening in Melbourne in Aust. This is the load down on the top eight drivers guide to the 2008 season.

Ferrari – Kimi  Raikkonen: Last years surprise champion is going to be hard to beat this season with a strong Ferrari under him.

Felipe Massa: He had a good season last year but seem to fade towards the of the season.  This year if he keeps up the winner up he could be World Champion.

BMW Sauber- Nick Heidfeld: Another good show by Nick in the 2007 season, always firmly behind the Ferrari’s and the Mclarens. This year Nick could take BMWs first win!!

Robert Kubica: Good points scorer in 07 from Kubica. Robert Kubica is a good driver and hopefully he keeps up with his fast team mate.

Renault- Fernando Alonso: So Fernando is back at his old team again after falling out with Mclaren. Lets hope Alonso get back on track, no really back track.

Nelson Piquet Junior: Nelson Piquet name is back in F1 again. Piquet Junior is a good signning by Renault. He will deafnly push Alonso this year.

Mclaren- Lewis Hamilton: What a huge surprise last year nearly becoming World Champion in his rookie season. But for this season, he is probably going  to be even Stronger.

Heikki Kovalainen: Good year for Hekki, Finishing in the points with a third place finish in Japan, Fuji International. This year he is with a competitive team- mate and should get his first win under his belt.

Where is Alonso going next?

December 7, 2007

At the monument the 2 times world champion is with out a drive for the next f1 season. There has be a lot of reports and rumors surrarounding Fernando Alonso next move.

First Alonso looked like going Red Bull Racing but David Coulthard and Mark Webber where contracted next season.  According to reports, Red Bulls driver Coulthard could make room for Alonso, by Coulthard moving to Toro Rosso (Red Bulls b team). But Coulthard wasn’t moving and the deal dissolved.

Then a rumor came up that Alonso was getting a race seat fitting at Honda Racing HQ. But Honda said Alonso wasn’t getting race seat so that was that.

Toyota looked like being in the chase for Alonso but signed instead for Timo Glock this year GP2 champion (the feeder series into F1). Toyota already have Jarno Trulli so that gate shut.

So where is Alonso next move, well the only move I think he is going back to Renault. But saying that maybe in the near future Fernando Alonso could jump into a Ferrari?
